So let’s just say that you are that person who wants to lose weight. You think that you’re doing everything you could be doing to drop the pounds. But are you? Let’s review what could possibly be holding you back from hitting your goal weight.
Yes, the dreadful word…diet. Why is it that when we hear this word we automatically think of cutting out all tasty foods and starving ourselves? Well that’s not diet means. Diet could simply mean that you stick to a specific type of eating habit. For example, some people choose to be on a high protein, low carb diet, or a vegan diet. So what does this have to do with you? Well, the way that losing weight works (for most people) is that you need to match your workouts with your diet. If you’re going H.A.M in the gym everyday but then leaving and grabbing a Big Mac from McDonald’s… well that’s not going to get you anywhere my dear. So yes, some sort of diet will be necessary in order to see results. Try eating low carbs, lean proteins, less sugar, nuts, dairy, and LOTS of veggies(They’re like zero calories).
Yep, pick up the weights. While cardio is so good for us and is the quickest way to burn fat, adding weights into the mix will give you even FASTER results AND a better body shape and tone. Sometimes if we are just doing cardio all of the time, our bodies may become “skinny” but having no muscle definition, which results in flabby parts of the body. And no you don’t have to lift heavy. Lifting small to medium weights will still give you the definition that you need while building strength. At the end of the day, don’t you want to be strong AND lean?
This simply means that your body is no longer making visible changes. This happens when you continue to do the same exercises without switching it up. Your body will no longer produce the results that you want until you switch up your workout. Take a new class, change your weight that you lift, add more H.I.I.T (High Intensity Interval Training) workouts into the mix.
Now go get to work!
