Are You Drinking Enough Water?


As I'm sure we all know... water is essential to survival. We need to keep our bodies hydrated at all times in order to keep our bodies active and functioning properly. Not only is water necessary to prevent dehydration, it can help give your skin an amazing glow and also help you to shed weight. The question is are you getting enough?

How much water should you be drinking every day? Well most nutritionists say about 6-8 glasses, or a gallon. That seems like a lot, I know. But in reality if you make it a habit to drink water throughout your day, you won't even notice the amount you drink.

I like to start with a glass of water as soon as I wake up to get my metabolism going and flush out any toxins. I tend to get very warm when I sleep so I wake up craving a glass of water to hydrate. If you can start your day with a glass then you’ve already made it a habit for the rest of the day. Drink another glass with your breakfast, then between meals. If you do this for each meal, at the end of the day you’ll have consumed 8 glasses of water.

If you exercise, you should add on about 2 more glasses of water to your diet to keep your body hydrated after sweating. Avoid drinking a lot of water before strenuous exercise to keep yourself from bringing it back up the wrong way… or hearing water splashing in your stomach when you jump.
