How To Let Go Of the Past & Build Your Dream Life
Can your dream life really exist? Or is it something made up that people want you to believe is possible to achieve?
With us having more and more access to people's lives on social media and seeing what is possible in this lifetime, it can either feel overwhelming or super inspiring to see other people live big and dreamy lives.
Well how do we remove the overwhelm and tap more into feelings of inspiration?Â
The number one rule for creating your dream life is to stop comparing, and focus on making the necessary changes within YOURSELF to get where you’d ultimately like to be.
Let go of the past
How can we expect anything to change when we are holding on to old beliefs, relationships, scenarios, and patterns? Becoming aligned with your dream life requires guts and willingness to let go and transform. This doesn’t mean to cut everyone and everything off (even thought sometimes it’s necessary), it just means being aware of what & who cannot come with you on your path towards your dream life.
If your goal is become a millionaire in 3 years, but you’re hanging around people who have a bad relationship with money and do not value the same things that you do, your journey will continue to take longer. Sadly, we have to cut ties with things and people that are not aligned with our future, highest self. Everyone can’t come with you.
Identify your blocks
We all have blocks that we must remove in order to get what we want in life. Sometimes that block could be your mindset, your habits, your self-esteem, or your surroundings. Getting clear and honest with yourself is crucial in moving into the next level of your life. If you don’t see anything that needs to be removed or adjusted then you will continue to stay in the same place for as long as the blocks are present.Â
Work on becoming self-aware through therapy, journaling, mindfulness, and intentional decision making. Find people who can hold you accountable or be honest with you by holding a mirror in front you. Once you are aware of what needs to change or be eliminated you will see things shift almost immediately. Opportunities will come in, the right people will show up, and you will start moving in the right direction.
Understand that anything is possible
The reality is that most people do not go after their dream life because they don’t think it’s possible. They allow negative opinions or words to discourage them, or they sabotage themselves by doing things that are not going to move them in the right direction. You can only achieve what you believe is possible for YOU. You may see other people doing big things like buying a house, building a family, building a successful company, and believe that only they can do it because they have some advantage over you. But that’s just imposter syndrome kicking in.Â
If you really want to see what’s possible for you, start reading books or biography’s about people who completely transformed their lives from nothing to something. Listen to testimonials, interviews, and talks from people who came from struggle, unsupportive circles, and financial setbacks. If they did it , so can you.
